A Place to Belong & Create
Trinity is a safe place where community and connection to one another drive everything we do, from worship to social activities. This nonjudgmental, welcoming environment builds trust that ensures congregants feel respected as they take risks or offer outside-the-box ideas that enrich us all.
We have a lively and fun parish life. Trinitarians support one another in everyday ways. We are, each of us, who we are, while we also strive to become better. We talk. We listen. We cry, grieve, and grow together. But we also have a lot of fun: we enjoy book club, movie club, yarn club, or art club; we play (badly!) on softball teams; we bless animals and bicycles; we green the church at Christmas and buy gifts for people in need. Food provides us spiritual, social, and physical sustenance, a gift we provide one another through any number of occasions. As one parishioner recently quipped, “we celebrate everything we can!”
Trinity has a particularly strong appreciation for visual and musical arts. Jeff Wunrow, our liturgical textile designer, has crafted most of our vestments. Our art committee organizes exhibitions in our space and excursions to local museums, while our art club gets together to make art in various media. Many working artists also have worshipped with us. Our Guide to Art and Design provides an overview of some of the art that decorates our space. Additionally, we have galleries for various artistic installations or exhibits that rotate throughout the year.
Music has been an important part of our culture for many decades. In 2009 we dedicated our majestic organ. We use both the 1982 and Lift Every Voice and Sing hymnals. Unfortunately, involvement in musical programming has waned some in recent years. However, it remains a top priority for our congregation. We are excited to revitalize music programming in the near future.
